The Packasport mounts easily to the Crossbars of Most Factory Roof Racks and to the Crossbar Systems from Yakima and Thule. Simply adjust the crossbars front to back to a 30” spread and the Packasport - with its unique crossbar channels - will nest into the crossbars.The Packasport secures to the crossbars with the Special Mounting Hardware furnished with each unit.
If your vehicle already has a roof rack with sliding front to back crossbars you are set and ready to go. Double check to make sure the roof rack you have has a carrying weight limitation that exceeds the weight of the Packasport you choose. Also check to see that the crossbars will accommodate the width of the Packasport you choose.

What is the Carrying Weight Limitation of my Roof Rack?
If you are using the Factory Roof Rack then that information is found in the Vehicle Owners Guide or call to get the information from the Dealership. If you are using a Replacement Rack the Manufacturer of that Rack will have the information. The weight and dimension of a specific Packasport is found on its respective page. What if my Vehicle has Side Rails but No Crossbars?
In most cases Retro-Fitted Crossbars can be purchased separately for that particular Vehicle. For special information about your particular Vehicle Crossbars go to the Yakima Site at www.yakima.com or to the Thule Site www.thule.com or call us at Sporto Motoring 1-800-977-5350 and we will be happy to help. If you do decide to purchase crossbars you want to be sure the crossbars and your Side Rail System have a carrying weight that exceeds the weight of the Packasport you choose.

Can the Packasport be Mounted to Round Crossbars and to Elliptical Crossbars?
Yes the Packasport can be Mounted to Round Crossbars and to the Elliptical Crossbars without any problem. The only limitation is with the width and depth of the crossbar. Crossbar width cannot exceed 4”. Crossbar depth cannot exceed 1.5”. Most crossbars are considerably less than these dimensions so this should not be a concern. If your vehicle has the exceptionally wide crossbars, and is not a Hummer, then you will need to purchase a Compatible Crossbar Set.
If you order a Packasport for a Hummer let us know so we can include the specially designed hardware that slides into the factory crossbars to complete the mount.

Will All Packasports fit All Vehicle Roof Racks?
No. There are different widths and lengths to be considered. For instance the System 115 has a 44” width and requires Crossbars that have at least a 44” inside the tower measurements. The System 60 only requires a 24” inside the tower measurement.
The length of the Packasport should be taken into consideration as well. The System 115 has a length of 91” that works well for longer roof lines. For shorter roof lines the System 90 XP at 68” works best.

How do I Measure the Length of My Crossbars?
Measure the inside length - from tower to tower - of the Crossbars so the Packasport will rest inside the towers. You want the Packasport to nest into the crossbars to maximize the benefit of the Design Aerodynamics.

Is it possible to Have My Packasport Custom Painted?
Yes and it looks sharp. It will take about 3 weeks. All we need is the Factory Paint Code.
You can get that from your VIN or call the Dealership. There are some Special Paints
that we can not do. We will let you know that before charging your account.
