HISTORY OF SIGN:
Jenney was an east coast aviation fuel. Jenney Manufacturing Company was established in Boston in 1812. Jenney sold whale oil, coal, kerosene and related products. Early in the twentieth century the company started selling gasoline in New England. By 1920 Jenney had a large network of filling stations in and around Boston. Jenney was merged into Cities service around 1965, and the Jenney name was replaced by Citgo. This sign for Jenney aviation fuel is from the 1935-1040 era.
