On Monday we celebrate those men and women who give so unselfishly so that our country remains free.
For more than two centuries of American history, brave men and women have proudly worn the uniform in this great land and stoodready to protect us from harm.
We can criticize our government no matter how we lean, worship in the faith of our choice, and be assured that our vote counts, all because others have chosen to stand up and fight for our freedoms.
Let us remember that freedom is not free.
Whether our troops bring justice to the murderer of three thousand innocent Americans, or simply keep America safe for another day, our daily appreciation should bind all Americans in a shared sense of purpose and pride.
Let us take a moment and honor the memory of those whose service and sacrifice have helped to preserve our freedoms from generation to generation.
I wish you and your family all the best this Memorial Day. I look forward to spending the day enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.
God Bless America
