Instructions: Surface Preparation for Amazing Glaze to Paint and Fiberglass
To maximize the Appearance and Longevity of a surface protected with Amazing Glaze the paint or fiberglass should be prepped and thoroughly cleaned by washing, and buffing
with a mild cleaning compound. As with any final surface coating, the appearance will only be as good as the preparation.
Our 2000 Pink is a mild compound with very little abrasive characteristics that will clean and enhance the surface of either paint, or gel coat in preparing for the Sealing Coat. Clear coats, lacquers, enamels, epoxies, etc. and all gel coat finishes will benefit dramatically by the use of Amazing Glaze.
After buffing with 2000 Pink, a quick swiping with acetone for fiberglass or clear, odorless mineral spirits for paint can insure that the surface is as clean, dust-free and ready as it could be. This is not a mandatory step but insures that no residue is left behind after the surface cleaner has been buffed off or in the case of a new boat no wax or parting agent remains on the fiberglass.
In a clean, shaded, well ventilated location, wipe on Amazing Glaze with a small hand size (preferably microfibre ) applicator and cover roughly a 4 x 6 foot area without re-wetting. Use A.G. Sparingly! Avoid runs and spillage. Two ounces when properly applied, will do the topsides and bottom of a 22 or 24 boat, mini van, or sport utility vehicle.
Watch carefully and when the Amazing Glaze is roughly 95% dry (usually 10 to 15 minutes) there will be small droplets on the surface or slightly damp marks on an otherwise dry area; wipe with a towel dampened with plain ordinary tap water to accelerate curing. If any haze remains, wipe again (preferably) with a microfibre curing cloth or clean soft, towel to a dry mirror-like finish. No elbow grease is needed on any steps!
These last maneuvers will ensure that there is No Streaking. If more time has passed than needed to allow some of the Amazing Glaze to remain damp between application and the toweling process with some slight streaking as a result, use a light coating A.G. and repeat the last step.
Do Not Wash with a Detergent for 72 Hours to allow full curing of Amazing Glaze resins. Additional coating can add durability and lengthen the time prior to re-application but is generally is not necessary. Hot, sunny, dry weather conditions will require shorter time spans prior to re-applying, especially in salt-air environments. To maintain full protection and maximum UV inhibiting, re-apply annually in Northern cooler areas and every six to eight months in higher UV and / or salt-air environments.
There is No Need to wax or polish once Amazing Glaze has been applied, but doing so will have no negative effects on the Amazing Glaze. Dont look for the beading of water that wax leaves on your paint. Amazing Glaze imparts a slikery finish that
sheets the water away.
It is important to recognize that Amazing Glaze is a Special Treatment and Protectant to Seal Your Finish from the potential damage of UV pollutants and other harmful elements. Amazing Glaze can enhance the appearance of your vehicles painted surface as well as protect it dramatically. The degree to which it promotes increased depth of color, additional sheen and luster, etc. will always depend on the preparation of the surface. Applying paint sealant to a dirty vehicle will only protect a dirty finish. Proper Preparation will insure the best possible finish.
